This article will give you an idea of what it's like to be part of our LabSchool. LabSchool is a day school program that offers academically rigorous academic instruction alongside laboratory-based science classes for kids in grades 1-12. We are unique in the sense that the schedule is more condensed so kids have less breaks and more time gets put into each subject. The atmosphere is also different- no traditional desks, instead LabSchool has work stations where students can move between stations as needed throughout the day. All of LabSchool's classes are hands on. A typical segment of the day includes Grade 1 Science, Grade 2 Pre-Algebra, Grade 3 English, Grade 4 Mathematics, Grade 5 Physical Science and Grade 6 Life Science.
By registering for our LabSchool program, you are committing to attending for the entire school year. If you do not attend for the entire school year after registration you will lose your financial aid and I Promise Scholarship award. Also, if your child does not attend on time (late by one day) on first day of school they will be required to attend LabSchool the following week on the designated dates that they were registered.
The International Program offers a unique opportunity for students to experience the world in an academically rigorous environment. Students will study in-depth topics such as business, math, science and geography at their independent pace. Through this program, IB students will take up to three Advanced Placement level subjects in certain subjects. There is one international trip that occurs over the summer semester and then one final trip in March or April of their senior year that is visited by students from several different countries at the same time. To enroll in International Program you must be a student at LabSchool and the program is only for grades 9-11. During each Unit, students have a chance to participate in several fun activities throughout the year. During the beginning of the school year there are two weeks designated for Unit activities. During these weeks, students can sign up for clubs or sports teams, go on field trips or community service workshops. Students will spend one day out of their week at LabSchool on Unit days participating in fun activities (commonly known as "Unit Days"). LabSchool has many clubs to choose from. Clubs run throughout the school year and are generally offered during Unit days (Wk 1 & 2). For clubs to participate in community service, these clubs must provide food for other clubs or families during Unit days. Clubs can also participate in science based events such as field trips and experiments. There are many great organizations that run at LabSchool. Students attend LabSchool for the full year and further their education by taking college courses (OT or PT), and then attend an NJSAT (National Junior School Achievement test) prep course during the summer semester. Students will then take the NJSAT test multiple times throughout their high school career, with each time at a different level (N=1-5). cfa1e77820
